Employment termination in Ivory Coast

Understanding the intricacies of employment termination policies in Ivory Coast is essential for maintaining a compliant and respectful working environment. In general, a contract of employment can be terminated by the employee under certain circumstances, such as:

  • The expiration of a fixed-term contract

When an employee, signed with an open-ended contract for a specified period and for the temporary replacement of a worker, has been working for at least six months in the company, they can unilaterally terminate the contract. The notice period varies depending on the employee’s tenure:
