Why hire talents from Tunisia

Tunisia is an untapped reservoir of high-caliber talent, presenting an exciting opportunity for international organizations to access a diverse and skilled workforce. This nation boasts a high literacy rate of 81.8%, according to the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, a testament to its robust education system and commitment to intellectual growth.

A high literacy rate indicates a well-educated populace, adept in critical thinking, problem-solving, and adept communication skills – all crucial components of a successful business. For organizations looking to expand their global footprint, this translates into a readily available pool of potential employees with the aptitude and capability to drive growth and innovation.

Tunisia’s population possesses a remarkable command over several languages, including Arabic, French, and English. This multilingual proficiency allows for seamless communication within globally dispersed teams and serves as an asset in customer-facing roles, enhancing your organization’s ability to deliver superior customer experiences.

At Breedj, we recognize this wealth of talent and offer comprehensive Tunisia RPO services to help your organization tap into this promising market. With a strategic approach tailored to your specific needs, we not only help you identify and attract top-tier talent but also ensure they are the perfect fit for your company culture and objectives.

Employment laws and regulations in Tunisia

Understanding the legal landscape of employment in a foreign country can be a daunting task, with potential pitfalls that can significantly affect your business. In Tunisia, it’s important to be aware of key employment laws and regulations, particularly around contracts, working hours, and overtime.

Employment contracts in Tunisia should ideally be drafted in Arabic, the nation’s official language, although French is widely accepted. It’s critical to ensure that these contracts adhere to the best practices within the local legal framework.

When it comes to probation periods, Tunisia follows a tiered system: six months for workers, nine months for first line supervisors, and a full year for executives. This period provides both the employer and the employee ample time to evaluate their professional relationship.

A standard workweek in Tunisia comprises five days and should not exceed 48 hours. Should a situation necessitate overtime, the law stipulates specific guidelines. A workday should not exceed 10 hours, or 60 hours per week. Overtime work must be additionally compensated; for full-time work of 48 hours per week, the additional compensation is 75%. For full-time work less than 48 hours per week, it’s 25% up to 48 hours and 50% beyond this period. For part-time work, the additional compensation is 50%.

At Breedj, we are intimately familiar with these laws and regulations. Our RPO services ensure that your recruitment and employment practices are fully compliant with local laws, thereby protecting your business from potential legal issues. Our local expertise allows us to guide you through these intricacies, providing peace of mind as you expand your operations in Tunisia.

Employment termination in Tunisia

Navigating the legalities of employment termination in Tunisia requires a careful and informed approach. There are specific policies that govern this process, ensuring it is fair and just for both parties involved.

In Tunisia, an employer must present a significant and just cause to terminate an employee. This is to ensure that terminations are not arbitrary and are based on valid grounds. Prior to dismissal, an employee has the right to appeal their case before a discipline council, further safeguarding their rights.

If a dismissal is to take place, a one-month notice period must be given in writing. This period allows both the employer and the employee to make necessary arrangements and transitions.

Employees in Tunisia are entitled to severance pay, unless they have been terminated for misconduct. The severance payment is calculated as one day’s pay for each month of employment, with the maximum amount capped at three months’ pay. This provides a financial cushion to the employee as they seek new employment.

At Breedj, we understand the delicate nature of termination procedures. Our RPO services include guidance on the termination process, ensuring it is handled professionally, respectfully, and within the legal framework of Tunisia. By choosing Breedj as your RPO partner, you can be confident that your organization is compliant with all aspects of employment law, from hiring to termination.
