Employment termination in Mali

In Mali, adhering to the general termination of employment policies is vital for maintaining a harmonious workplace and avoiding potential disputes. In the absence of collective agreements or decrees, the duration of the notice period varies depending on the employee’s position and payment terms:

  • 8 days for staff paid by the day or week
  • 1 month for workers receiving monthly salaries
  • 2 months for supervisors and assimilated employees
  • 3 months for executives and management

In addition to notice periods, severance pay is a critical aspect of employment termination in Mali. Employees are entitled to severance pay based on their length of service:

  • 20% of the monthly salary for each of the first five years of work
  • 25% for each year from the 6th to the 10th, inclusive
  • 30% for each year beyond the 10th

Breedj ensures that your organization adheres to these policies while managing the termination of employment in Mali. Our thorough understanding of local labor laws and regulations enables us to provide comprehensive RPO services, supporting your organization in achieving its goals while maintaining compliance and fostering positive employer-employee relationships.
