An inspiring day at the heart of Africa’s tech and employment ecosystem
On May 28, 2025, our team had the honor of participating in the annual Jobtech Alliance Summit in Nairobi a must-attend event bringing together tech leaders dedicated to improving employability in Africa.
From the early hours of the day, the energy from founders and startups was palpable: inspiring masterclasses, peer-to-peer growth clinics, and rich discussions on the strategic use of AI and storytelling in sales journeys marked this intense day.
The Jobtech Alliance, a driver of innovation for employment in Africa
The Jobtech Alliance is a pan-African initiative supported by the FCDO (Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office) and key partners such as Mercy Corps and BFA Global. It aims to accelerate the development of tech solutions that improve access to decent jobs and sustainable income across the African continent.
Since 2025, Breedj has officially joined the Jobtech Alliance ecosystem. This integration marks an important step for our platform, which shares the same goals: to promote ethical, digitized, and inclusive recruitment in response to large-scale employment challenges.
Key insights shared during the event
Here are some of the major trends explored during the conference:
🎙️ Storytelling as a powerful sales lever, capable of turning technical features into emotionally impactful narratives.
🤖 Artificial intelligence integrated into sales processes to personalize customer experience and automate growth.
💬 Peer learning, facilitated through the Whova app community, with practical solution sharing among JTA network members.
A thriving community
Beyond the sessions, this conference confirmed the key role the Jobtech Alliance plays in uniting stakeholders committed to the future of work in Africa. We are proud to be part of this movement and look forward to contributing to upcoming collaborative initiatives.
🌍 Employment in Africa: a demographic challenge and a tech opportunity
Africa will have over one billion working-age individuals by 2050. While this demographic boom is a tremendous opportunity, it also presents a major challenge: how can we create enough decent jobs for an increasingly young and connected population?
In this context, African tech startups play a key role. With innovative, agile models tailored to local realities, they are able to:
Create distributed jobs through digital means (freelancing, remote work, gig economy)
Upskill talent with accessible training platforms (bootcamps, micro-learning, mobile e-learning)
And connect young talent to regional and global economic opportunities.
Initiatives like those supported by the Jobtech Alliance, alongside actors like Breedj, show that it is possible to build an ecosystem where technology becomes an accelerator of economic inclusion.
The key? A focus on impact, transparency, and accessibility to sustainably transform the future of work across the continent.
